This weekend was quite the weekend for little Buddy! He got to meet many members of his family and a new cockapoo girl friend, Mollie Sue. Buddy hopped around the yard, chasing Mollie Sue and trying to get her to play. It was nice for him to have a friend who reminded him of his sisters and brother back home!
Playing with Mollie Sue tired him out and he took an afternoon nap (part of it on Mollie Sue’s owner, Dave’s shoes). Then, Kristi’s cousins, Maria, Kayla and Nina arrived with their parents, Jenny and Bill Marchessault. The Marchessault family loves animals. They have 2 dogs and 2 cats—may be Buddy will meet their pets this summer at the cabin!
Later, Kristi’s nephew’s, Joey and Jack, came to meet Buddy. Joey was very helpful and gave Buddy a toy to play with. He also petted him to sleep on the couch. Jack, who is 2, kept his distance. May be when he meets Buddy again he’ll decide he wants to try and pet Buddy gently while his mommy holds him.
Buddy enjoyed running around the yard in Minnesota’s sunny and 60-degree weather this weekend. He’s starting to learn where his new potty space is, with a few accidents here and there. He’s eating healthy and wakes his parents up in the night to go potty. They don’t mind because they’re glad he’s not going in the house.

Here's a pic from www.511mn.org, the offical site for driving conditions in MN (better known as MNDOT).

Official Weather Call
The breeder called at 2:40p.m. to say the truck coming from Wisconsin that her husband is picking up is delayed and he won't be in Rothsay until 8:30 or 9p.m. After many phone calls to the breeder and family members to see who's available that late to travel with me, my mom said she would!
She and I took a look at the MNDOT driving and weather reports on www.511mn.org, so far we're going to pick the little guy up!!! We're leaving mom & dad's place in Maple Grove at about 6:00p.m., but before we do we're going to call Kyle, the breeder's husband, to make sure he's on schedule.

Where is Rothsay Minnesota?!?!
Yeeeh-HA!!! Dana and I are headed to the Prairie Chicken Capital of Minnesota, Rothsay, to pick up the little guy (the puppy that is, not the chicken!). The breeder's husband is a truck driver and his mail route today happens to go from where they're located, near Bismark, North Dakota, to Rothsay, which is about a half-hour from the Minnesota/North Dakota boarder. This saves Mike and I from having to drive all the way to Bismark!!!
The official weather call will be made at 3p.m.
We're getting a puppy!!!
Weather permitting, my sister-in-law, Dana, and I are driving 2-hours to pick up the little puppy today that Mike and I picked out!!! Born on Feb. 25th, 2007, he's a 6 week old buff male cockapoo that weighs 3 1/2 lbs. We're making the trip at 5:00p.m. if the roads are in good shape.
More photos of him and his siblings are located at candkcockapoos.com. We have a couple of names in mind but are going to wait to see what his little personality is like and then pick one. The breeders call him Buddy right now and I think if Mike has his way we'll be naming him after a MN Twins player...can you guess which one?
